The BCCI revealed the Indian cricket team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy starting in Perth on November 22. The deputy captain of the India team captained by Rohit Sharma is Jasprit Bumrah. Mohammed Shami, an experienced pacer with an injury, is not playing. Selectors have called up young pacer Harshit Rana for the first time for a Test match, while they have also called up Nitish Reddy, an all-round fast bowler.
Additionally called up is Abhimanyu Easwaran, a veteran of domestic cricket. Dhruv Jurel and Rishabh Pant are the two wicketkeepers. Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Yashasvi Jaiswal make up the heart of the top order. KL Rahul and Sarfaraz Khan are in the middle order. The other pacers are Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, and Mohammed Siraj, in addition to Bumrah and Rana.
Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin are the team’s three spin-all-rounders.
Axar Patel, a left-arm spinner, has not yet been chosen for the Tour. After the conclusion of the current Test series against New Zealand, the BCCI sent Kuldeep Yadav to the Centre of Excellence for a long-term solution to his persistent left groin problem, which prevented him from being selected for the Australian trip.
The reserves include fast bowlers Khaleel Ahmed, Navdeep Saini, and Mukesh Kumar.
India will play a five-match Test series in Australia as part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy beginning in Perth on November 22nd, following the conclusion of their three-match Test series against New Zealand.
